Our Approach to Riding is Centered Around Learning, Bonding, and Growing each Day. Building a Relationship with a Horse teaches Responsibility, Caring, and Confidence in the Student. It can become a Long Life Passion only the Horse and Student will Understand.
My name is Erica, I’m the owner/trainer at Peace Equestrian Academy. I have 30 plus years of horseback riding experience in English riding consisting of jumping and dressage. I became interested in horses at a very young age and started riding when I was five years old off and on.
I began consistently taking formal English lessons when I was 10 years old. I bought my first horse when I was 13, his name was Sal and he had been my lesson horse for a couple of years. Four years later, I had surpassed Sal’s abilities and bought my next horse, an off-the-track Thoroughbred named Peace Prospect. With my trainer’s help, I trained him from the ground up and to this day, 22 years later, Peace greets me daily at the barn. He’s been my rock, my inspiration, and my best friend for over two decades. Teaching me patience, giving me confidence, and showing me that hard work and dedication pays off in the long run. He has been teaching other children these things for the last 15 years and he is still going strong at the age of 27.
There’s nothing more amazing and special than a bond between a girl and her horse. I have been an RN for the last 12 years, working in all different areas of nursing but, mainly in critical care such as pediatric, adult ICU’s, and ER’s. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time helping and caring for people. I will utilize my nursing knowledge to make sure the students, horses, spectators as well as myself are in a safe environment conducive for learning and above all, having fun and starting a lifelong relationship with horses and riding.
